At the prestigious Western Australian Golf Awards held recently at the Perth Convention Centre, the Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club was crowned the Regional Golf Course of the Year for 2020.
The judges considered a number of aspects when making their decision including course design, layout, shot making, improvements during the past year, and overall championship condition.
Oliver Bell, the Course Superintendent along with his team and a number of club-member volunteers have worked hard to make the course the best in the state.
In addition to winning the award for the best regional golf course, DLGC had finalists in a number of other categories:
- Oliver Bell – Superintendent of the Year (third year running)
- Alan Gaukrodger – Employee of the Year
- Earl Baker – Volunteer of the Year
We congratulate the three finalists and thank them for their ongoing efforts.
The club was also a finalist in the category Regional Golf Facility of the Year, which considered a number of aspects beyond purely golf. This is great recognition of the contribution of the whole team at DLGC.
